Trigger Accordion from external link

Hello, I am using mootools and i have created an accordion which is working great. Now i have to make the accordion to open up from the links that i have it on top of the page, so the accordions which open on clicking them should also open the same way by clicking on the top links. I have tried using the a name="#", but the links takes me back to the accordion, but it doesnt open up.. I have tried a lot of things and i need a useful solution to it.
